Interferring Environments

Okay, so McLuhan says that different media are environments that condition us differently. Movable type made mass literacy and individualism possible. Everybody who learned to read exercised new mental muscles. More recently, electronic media -- a new environment -- broadened awareness, tried to pry our noses out of our books.

What happens when we live in multriple environments:

* Our inherited literacy;

* Electronic Media;

* Change in carrying capacity?
